FINDING THE TOWER

For first time visitors this is a bit tricky due to the fact that currently there is no direct entrance to the tower's door from its address at 14 Kraińskiego (NOTE: this address is NOT to be confused with another street of similar spelling: "Krasinskiego"!) IF you walk, drive or take a taxi to 14 Kraińskiego, you must walk around the ancient wall that is attached to the tower to its other side. The door is on the inside of this wall. This wall's beginning is by the corner of Purkyniego and Kraińskiego (F) on the map to the left.

From Piaskowa (D)

Between Purkyniego (the first cross street north of Pl. Dominikanski) and the Odra river are two pharmacies, one with a blinking red cross, the other a blinking blue cross. Between them is a passageway. Walk through it into a courtyard where you will see the medieval tower. The door is to the right.

BY TAXI: From Purkyniego and Piaskowa (E)

Just tell the driver to go to Piaskowa 5 (pronounced: Pee-ah-Sko-vuh P-Yench) and you will be at the courtyard and the tower.

PARKING (B)

At the corner of Piaskowa and the river is a large red brick building known as "Hala Targowa" (pronounced: Hah lah - Tar Go vuh). If you are new to Wroclaw, this is a large indoor market worth visiting during daytime hours). On the north (river) side of this building is a large parking lot. There is also parking on Kraińskiego and a small lot next to the tower where it is possible to park AFTER 4 p.m. weekdays and all day during Saturday and Sunday. One can also park at Pl. "Nowy Targ' (not seen on these maps) at the intersection of Purkyniego and Piaskowa.
